The Group began in 1997 and, happily, still has some of its original members. To accommodate a Waiting List, Book Circle 2 started in 2007.

We are a friendly bunch.

Book choices are made at our Planning Meeting at the end of the year, and we aim to include a classic, an historical novel, a biography, a translation, a detective story and recent publications.

Whoever has the title will lead the discussion, then all members of the Group will give their points of view. The most stimulating sessions are those when there are differing opinions….usually most times!

We take turns in providing tea/coffee and biscuits.

The review for the Monthly Newsletter is mainly done by the member who proposed the title.

We all agree that we read and enjoy (or not) books which normally would not occur to us individually.
